There seems to be a storm brewing lately around the US Dollar and its role as the global reserve currency. I'm sure you've heard in the main stream media about the so called "Stress Tests" that the US banks have undergone. Well, I believe from what I've seen in the press lately about the Dollar that it (the US Dollar) may be going through its own Stress Test to see if it can continue to lead the world as the reserve currency. The purpose of this blog post is to track the latest Dollar News and place it all in one concise location.

What is a Reserve Currency?
A reserve currency (or anchor currency) is a currency which is held in significant quantities by many governments and institutions as part of their foreign exchange reserves. It also tends to be the international pricing currency for products traded on a global market, such as oil, gold, etc.

You are certainly right about a storm brewing with the Dollar. Each day I check the Dollar news and each day there's a higher volume of news stories on that topic. It's like a snowball effect. This might be a really big story within the next couple of months or maybe within weeks.
